Metalworks Founder & CEO Gil Moore wins Laurie Pallett Patron of the Arts Award - May 7th, 2015

Congratulations to our CEO & Founder Gil Moore on receiving the 2015 Laurie Pallett Patron of the Arts Award at the May 7th MARTY Awards ceremony. The award recipient is selected by an esteemed panel and was graciously presented to Moore by Laurie Pallett herself. The Laurie Pallett Award is granted to an individual that has “gone above and beyond the call of duty; who has foresight, vision and who has truly contributed to the development of the arts in our community over a significant period of time.”

The Honourable Madame Mayor Bonnie Crombie presented the Lifetime Achievement in Arts Award to the Honorable Madame Hazel McCallion, for her tremendous contribution towards arts and culture during her tenure as mayor.

The annual MARTYS Awards show was first developed in 1994 by the Mississauga Arts Council as the Mississauga Arts Awards by founding Executive Director, Laurie Pallett. In 2007, the name was changed to MARTY Awards (Mississauga’s ARTY) by community contest. Artists from every medium are recognized throughout the evening’s event.

Congratulations to all award nominees and recipients and thank you to the Mississauga Arts Council for their continued support and recognition of the arts in Mississauga.
