WTFest Recap

June 13th – June 14th, 2015

Despite the unpredictable weather this past weekend, Metalworks Production Group was able to assist in making the first ever What The Fest (WTFest) in Brantford, Ontario a memorable one. Saturday kicked off the festival with performances by I Mother Earth, The Trews and Big Wreck, all of which were fantastic.

Our team managed to escape heavy rainfall right up until Sunday evening, when it hit so hard that streets began to flood. Luckily when Lights took the stage, the rain started to let up, allowing our crews and the artists to liven the thoroughly soaked crowd. When headliner Hedley took the stage, it was as if it hadn’t rained at all. Fans sang along with all of the bands hit songs, old and new, and they cheered extra loud when front-man Jacob Hoggard brought a young fan onstage to sing Perfect to her.

Our team was the Production Sponsor for this festival. We set up an SL320 with a DvDosc Line Array PA accompanied by digital consoles at front of house and monitors. A moving light and LED package that ensured an intriguing visual show to accompany the first class music experience.

Together with the assistance of the staff at WTFest, our team and the artists were able to put on a spectacular event that even Mother Nature herself could not foil.
